Jacobus Hendrik (Henk) Pierneef (usually referred to as Pierneef) (13 August 1886 Pretoria – 4 October 1957) was a South African landscape artist, generally considered to be one of the best of the old South African masters. His distinctive style is widely recognised and his work was greatly influenced by the South African landscape.

This collection consists of:

  • A variety of articles and reviews from South African newspapers and newspapers from the Netherlands covering 1908 to 2011
  • Limited journal articles covering 1917 to 1949
  • Personal and official correspondence
  • Exhibition catalogues and invitations
  • Diverse items such as photos, catalogues of other artists, examples of Pierneef impressions on cards, calenders and programmes.
