ISAM (Information Centre for Southern African Music) contains works by South African Composers. The first compositions reached the Library in the early 1950's. The collection grew over the years and in due course this donation was aptly named, Institute for South African Music, or ISAM. In the late nineties the name changed to the Information Centre of South African Music.
The database consists of references to books, music scores and records. The title and first page of the music scores are available in .pdf format.
The actual collection is housed in the Music Library on the Potchefstroom Campus of the NWU. For more information about the collection please contact Dineo Boutlwanye at +27 (0)18 299 2808.
